The family-owned company J. VAN DER ELST, based in Aalter, has been active in women’s fashion since 1971 and markets the MARIE MERO brand. Its collections are characterised by a distinctly feminine, stylish and balanced look with a touch of mystery. The styles are equally suited to festive occasions and everyday wear. The design, production, sales and distribution of the brand are all managed in-house. Positioned in the upper-mid price segment, MARIE MERO is available from selected multi-brand retailers, its six concept stores in Ghent, Knokke, Nieuwpoort, Roeselare, Leuven and Mechelen, and its online store. Each year, the brand launches one summer collection, one winter collection and two capsule collections. Part of the company’s turnover comes from exports, with the United Kingdom, Ireland and the Netherlands as its main markets.
